Material Handling Specialist - Material Planning Logistics (MP&L) Operator
Location: Statesboro, GA
Rate of Pay: $18.00/hr
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm (schedule may change based on business needs) Position Summary The MP&L Operator is responsible for material planning and logistics operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally with automotive experience. This role involves flexibility for shift rotation and movement between work centers. You must comply with all plant policies, support 5S initiatives, and align with department/corporate goals. Additional duties may be assigned as business needs arise. Essential Functions Receiving (Primary)
- Unload and load trucks on the receiving side
- Inspect delivered materials, sort for internal categories
- Store materials in designated rack locations
- Maintain an organized receiving area
- Operate equipment (trash removal auger, bailer, compactor, dumpster)
- Support unloading/loading trucks on the shipping side as needed
- Assist with repacking in shipping area
- Load/unload trucks for outbound shipments and empty carts
- Retrieve materials from racks for shipping and repack areas
- Create shipping notices (ASNs) for specified destinations
- Repack and load carts, scan parts, prepare labels for shipments (condensers, heaters, modules, blowers, accumulators, compressors)
- Keep shipping area organized
- Assist with unloading/loading trucks on the receiving side
- Help in repacking area on production floor
- Repack empty carts per production plan
- Monitor production lines every 30 minutes, stock shelves/bins/shop floor for steady production
- Break down cooling module boxes, place on pallets for pickup
- Work in designated stations (e.g., evaporator)
- Maintain repack area organization
- Assist with repacking/loading carts and scanning/labeling parts
- Operate trash removal equipment as needed
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience required
- Previous warehouse experience in manufacturing (automotive industry preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork capabilities
- Positive attitude and solid work ethic
- Manufacturing plant setting (fluctuating temperatures; hot in summer, cool in winter)
- Exposure to noise and bright lighting
- Required use of company-issued PPE (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves)
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Stand for 8–12 hours daily
- Frequent bending and reaching
- Push/pull up to 150 lbs for up to one hour per day (carts)
- Focus for extended periods; ability to multitask and analyze information
