Applicants should have a solid grasp of chemistry, physics and mechanical testing and be able to utilize common sense and critical thinking to solve complex problems. To that end, we are committed to professional development across all aspects of materials and communication, with mentorship and training opportunities.

Responsibilities and activities for this position include the following:

  • Perform test set-up, sample preparation and data collection in accordance with test standards.

  • Conduct data entry/transfer from TDS sheets into database, where possible.
  • Fabricate fixtures and equipment as needed. Write programming scripts when necessary.
  • Assist with lab maintenance and equipment upkeep on occasion.

Key Qualifications
  • Experience laboratory testing and measurement equipment, such as load frames (e.g. Instron), calipers, or microscopes, as well as sample preparation for similar testing
  • Strong drive and passion to provide accurate data with attention to detail, and ability to execute sometimes very-repetitive manual test procedures
  • Hands-on experience with analytical chemistry tools (FTIR, DSC, TGA, DMA, TMA) is a plus
  • Proficient in using Excel, Keynote and basic word processing
  • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively on tight deadlines in a supportive environment
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects for several customers in a given week
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience:
