Mechanical Engineer (Aerospace) ONSITE
Mobile, AL

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for qualification of Standard Parts, which includes all phases:
  • New development
  • Test design and test review
  • Environmental analysis
  • Supplier management/drum-beating
  • Contribute to cabin and cargo engineering in all phases:
  • From prototype to final design
  • Qualification of parts according to design requirements and Airbus procedures
  • Allocate aircraft top-level requirements to systems level
  • Evaluate and develop lightweight solutions for improved aircraft performance
  • Provide design support, impact assessment, and preparation of design verification
  • Prepare engineering technical reports and presentations
  • Validate engineering data on drawings for Aircraft Product Data Management systems
  • Provide engineering support to the FAL for securing aircraft delivery
  • Lead digitalization improvement projects
  • Develop methods to automate work and processes

    Meet the Team:

    • Work with engineers on highly engineered machines
    • Involved in all stages of the aircraft life cycle
    • Engage in product development, manufacturing, and airline customer support
    • Join the mission to design, create, and test Airbus products globally

    Working Environment:

    • Based in the Engineering Center, Mobile, Alabama
    • Collaborate with hundreds of engineers
    • Involved in design and development of commercial aircraft cabins
    • Work on aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations, and services globally

    Your Boarding Pass:

    • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Aerospace engineering or related field
    • 6 years experience in engineering classification
    • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Engineering drawings
    • Bills of material
    • Compliance documentation
    • Technical documentation
  • Experience in CATIA
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and dynamic environments
  • Interpret extensive variety of technical aircraft topics
  • Excellent coordination and organization skills
  • Ability to motivate diverse teams
  • Authorization to work in the US
