Position Title: Membership Coordinator
Location: Troy, MI
Position Type: Temp to Hire, then Full-Time, Exempt once hired in
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
Pay Rate: $25/hr-30/hr

Position Overview

The Membership Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering meaningful relationships with our members, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring a high level of engagement and satisfaction. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of membership services including inquiries, onboarding, renewals, outreach, and record-keeping.

Working closely with the Executive Director, the Membership Coordinator helps implement membership strategies and initiatives that drive growth, retention, and overall member satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly and professionally to member inquiries.

  • Guide new members through the onboarding process and explain available benefits.

  • Manage membership applications, renewals, cancellations, and payments.

  • Develop and execute strategies for member acquisition and retention.

  • Monitor and forecast membership revenue; manage timely processing and reconciliation of renewals.

  • Maintain and update accurate member records in the organization's database.

  • Assist in creating and distributing marketing materials and communications to members.

  • Manage timelines and strategies for member communications including emails, newsletters, and mailings.

  • Oversee social media engagement and community outreach efforts.

  • Support the development and implementation of membership policies and procedures.

  • Keep membership resources current on the organization's website.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization's mission.

Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with diverse audiences.

  • Experience in database management with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Commitment to providing excellent member service.

Preferred Skills & Attributes
  • Positive, professional demeanor with a collaborative mindset.

  • Experience working with diverse populations and stakeholders.

  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.

  • Project management skills and experience overseeing multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Sales or customer relationship management experience is a plus.

  • Prior experience in a membership-based organization or association preferred.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
