Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Microbiologist for a contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our clients, a leading small molecule CDMO at their Irvine, CA facility. Pay rate: $30-36/hour
Position Overview:
As a Microbiologist at Kelly Science and Clinical, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of our client's pharmaceutical products. You'll be responsible for performing microbiological assays on finished products and conducting rigorous microbial limit tests to maintain the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities

  • Conduct microbiological assays of Cyanocobalamin (B12), Folic Acid, Niacinamide, Biotin, and Pantothenic Acid on finished products.
  • Perform comprehensive microbiological limit tests, including Total aerobic microbial count, Yeast and Mold, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, E. Coli, and Salmonella.
  • Maintain live microbiological agents and cultures to support ongoing testing requirements.
  • Utilize, maintain, and troubleshoot microbiological instrumentation, including microscope, autoclave, incubators, refrigerators, freezers, biological safety cabinet, and automated microbiological incubation system.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring by collecting and analyzing samples of water, swabs, and air for microbiological load, evaluating data for trends.
  • Author standard operating procedures and microbiological methods to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Document laboratory investigations, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, cGMP regulations, and laboratory safety standards.
  • Review laboratory notebooks for accuracy and completeness, maintaining meticulous records.
  • Assist with equipment calibrations and qualification, ensuring accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Conduct method validations, transfers, and troubleshooting to optimize testing processes.
  • Cultivate and freeze Mold for use in Suitability studies, contributing to ongoing quality assurance initiatives.
  • Support management in preparing for internal and customer audits, demonstrating a commitment to transparency and accountability.
  • Take ownership of specific areas, functions, projects, and/or instrumentation based on your experience and expertise.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the overall success of the team.
Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor's degree in microbiology or a closely related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in microbiological and/or chemistry laboratory settings.
  • Proficient in aseptic technique and microbiological test methods.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures with precision and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring the highest level of quality in all work.
  • A positive team player, eager to collaborate and contribute to a supportive work environment.
