Are you detail-oriented, safety-focused, and a natural leader? We are seeking a dedicated On-site Team Lead to oversee containment support services at an automobile manufacturing facility. This essential role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on quality inspection tasks, ensuring strict adherence to both safety and quality standards in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Pay Rate: $22.15 per hour
Schedule: 2 Week Days/Nights Rotation (10.5hr shifts)
- Confirm daily attendance of contract employees
- Allocate and communicate containment support based on production requirements
- Distribute and monitor the use of PPE (e.g. safety vests, glasses, bump caps)
- Enforce workplace dress code (no jeans/jewelry permitted on site)
- Secure all supplies and equipment at the end of each shift
- Monitor employee timecards and report accuracy
- Conduct and document daily audits of containment sorts
- Report safety concerns, incidents, or near misses immediately
- Train contract employees on sorting and inspection requirements as needed
- Maintain clear communication via logbooks, shift briefings, and regular meetings with management
- Perform sorting, inspection, and production tasks, including precise data entry
- Follow detailed work instructions and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Utilize inspection, measurement, and testing equipment (e.g. calipers, micrometers)
- Complete all mandatory ongoing training courses
- Uphold quality standards in all documentation and database management
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team leads regarding technical challenges
- Observe and promote safety procedures at all times
Qualifications:
- Previous quality inspection or team leadership experience preferred (automotive experience is an asset)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances
- Professional demeanor and self-motivation
- Proficient with handheld devices (such as tablets) for record-keeping
- Physically able to conduct inspections and operate testing tools
- Must own CSA-approved safety shoes
- Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
