Position Overview:
Kelly Services has partnered with a financial consulting firm to find an Operations Manager/Discovery Team Lead to oversee the substantiation process for R&D tax credits. This critical role requires a leader who balances attention to detail with proactive initiative, brings clarity to complex situations, and ensures deadlines are consistently met. As Discovery Team Lead, you'll coordinate a team of researchers and technical writers, manage operational workflows, and ensure delivery of client-ready, high-quality outputs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the discover team by establishing clear priorities, enforcing deadlines, and monitoring team performance.
  • Translate intricate tax credit regulations and requirements into straightforward and actionable procedures for the team.
  • Optimize workflow processes to effectively balance the contributions of research-focused staff with the organization's output objectives.
  • Ensure all client deliverables are accurate, consistent and delivered in a timely manner, maintaining momentum throughout the engagement.
  • Regularly report on project progress, identify potential risks or obstacles, and communicate resource needs directly to executive leadership.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrates a strong balance of research skills, organizational structure, initiative, and execution.
  • Excels in leading detail-oriented teams while maintaining focus on broader objectives and deadlines.
  • Effectively holds team members accountable, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Brings proven experience in operations management, process optimization, or project leadership, preferably within a research-intensive or technical environment.
