Now Hiring: Outbound Heavy Weight Shipping Clerk
Location: Farmington, CT
Pay: $21/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Overtime & Saturdays as required)

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Outbound Heavy Weight Shipping Clerk to join our team. This position plays a critical role in preparing and shipping high-precision laser machines and automation equipment. The ideal candidate is experienced in heavy freight packaging, crate building, and has strong organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Package laser machines according to detailed work instructions and best practices

  • Build wooden crates and pallets using purchased lumber and power tools

  • Load machines and automation units onto flatbed trailers

  • Operate forklifts and a 20-ton overhead crane to move heavy equipment

  • Process pick lists using SAP

  • Maintain and improve technical and organizational aspects of the shipping process

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external partners

  • Troubleshoot and resolve shipping issues with customer service representatives

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Forklift license required; crane operation experience preferred

  • Prior computerized shipping experience (SAP preferred)

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly without assistance

  • Comfortable standing for long periods and performing physically demanding work

  • Experience using power tools such as saws, hammers, and drills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage shipping paperwork efficiently

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Work Environment:
  • Hands-on, production floor environment

  • Use of PPE and adherence to safety standards required
