Now Hiring: Patient Care Secretary
Location: Glastonbury, CT
Pay Rate: $20/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
We're working with a respected healthcare organization in Glastonbury, CT, and currently seeking an experienced and reliable Patient Care Secretary to support their clinical team. Position Overview:As a Patient Care Secretary, you will play a key role in supporting clinical operations by managing communication, scheduling, and patient documentation. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:-
Answer and direct phone calls, serving as a liaison between patients, families, and clinical staff

Manage and coordinate daily schedules for team members

Prepare agendas and attend weekly team meetings, ensuring follow-up on assigned tasks

Establish, maintain, and close patient charts; track and follow up on required documentation

Provide administrative support to billing and clinical departments as needed

Order and track Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
-
Accurately enter patient care data into internal systems (e.g., Vx, event tracking)

Maintain and update Admission, Discharge, and Transfer (ADT) records and daily census
-
Order supplies and manage inventory

Process patient care-related mail and routine correspondence

Provide coverage for other patient care secretaries during absences

High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum of 3 years of administrative or clerical experience (healthcare experience preferred)

Proficiency in typing and computer systems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Strong ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment

Comfortable handling confidential patient information

Work with a well-regarded healthcare provider
