Temporary Payroll Specialist / Employment Coordinator
$28–$30 per hour

Contract Role through Kelly Services

Kelly Services is hiring a Payroll Specialist / Employment Coordinator for our educational client in Milton, MA. This is a temporary, onsite role supporting student payroll operations and federal work-study compliance. If you're detail-oriented, experienced with payroll systems, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage payroll processing and employment documentation for student workers
  • Track Federal Work-Study awards and monitor hours worked
  • Enter and audit student employee data in ADP and Banner
  • Ensure compliance with student employment regulations and payroll policies
  • Train managers on timekeeping and payroll procedures
  • Prepare required reports for federal compliance and internal use
  • Communicate changes to accounting for accurate reporting
  • Support additional finance office tasks and vendor disbursements as needed
  • Provide backup coverage for the Payroll Manager

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
  • 4+ years of payroll experience (multi-state or student employment a plus)
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now, ADP Time & Attendance, and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in higher education or Banner is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
