Position Summary 
The Planning Data Specialist I will conduct basic research for various vacant territories, working through data sources to collect information for construction projects. Their primary responsibility is to meticulously gather essential data and enter key data.

This is a full-time position and reports directly to the Manager, Planning Team. 

 

Preferred Location and Expected Work Hours 

  • This is a remote, home-office role and candidates must be located in our West Region that includes the following states:  
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00  
  • Pay: $18/hr
 

Travel Requirements 

Expected travel is 5% for this role.  

 

Essential Functions  

  • Gain a working knowledge of the construction industry and key players 
  • Gain expertise in specific data sources and knowledge in all the Forecasting products 
  • Research, collect, verify, and maintain project data through various means, including outbound phone calls, emails, and digital research with guidance from manager 
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive data entry for all assigned projects to update Dodge Reports on the Dodge platform 
  • Maximize project coverage by conducting basic research and basic report sequencing 
  • Complete formal documentation required to support data collection processes 
  • Maintain accountability for performance metrics, ensuring accurate, punctual, and thorough data collection 
  • Oversee the execution of cross functional data acquisition projects within the assigned territory, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timeline 
  • Ability to meet performance metrics 

 

Education Requirement 

High School Diploma or GED 

 

Required Experience, Knowledge and Skills  

  • 6 months of outbound call experience 
  • Data entry experience 
  • Proficient in all Microsoft areas 
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • Excellent reading comprehension 
  • Excellent internet research skills 
  • Able to work effectively in an independent, remote environment 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced role/production driven environment 
  • Strong typing skills 
  • Critical thinker and problem solver 

 

Preferred Experience, Knowledge and Skills  

  • Online research experience 
  • Experience in the construction industry 

 

Working Environment and Physical Demands  

  • Activities include sitting for long periods of time  
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate computer with mouse, a keyboard, phone system, and other office equipment 
  • Requires a normal range of hearing and vision to present, prepare and communicate appropriate customer Software as a Service (SaaS) functions and speak with clients over the phone or computer 
  • Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read numbers, reports and computer terminals 
 

Intellectual Demands  

  • Above average analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public 
  • Ability to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages 
  • Computer software skills required include: Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel 
  • The ability to learn department specific software within a reasonable timeframe is desired 
  • The ability to utilize a broad knowledge of management principles, practices and techniques to formulate and coordinate activities and functions with the organization is required 
  • A comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices and report writing, while paying close attention to detail is required 
  • The ability to speak, read and write in English is required
