Description

Kelly Science is seeking a Principal Engineer (Mineral Processing) for a growing client located in Stamford, CT.
 
Salary: $108,000-165,000/year
Employment Type: Full Time; Direct Hire
Travel expectation: 40% both domestic and international
Work Model: on-site in Stamford, CT- relocation assistance available for qualifying candidates
 
Join our clients Mineral Processing R&I team and help drive innovative technologies and products for Mining Solutions. As Principal Engineer, you'll collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technical experts to lead research, design lab and field tests, and commercialize solutions that deliver value to our customers.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead R&D programs for new mineral processing products and technologies
  • Design and run lab and field tests to validate new products
  • Provide strategic input and propose new ideas for innovation
  • Develop and share product knowledge with the team
  • Conduct pilot and industrial trials with project teams and customers
  • Communicate findings internally and externally
  • Collaborate across departments to achieve innovation goals
  • Support patent applications and protect IP
  • Stay updated on industry trends and represent the company at conferences
  • Advise and support key customers with expert recommendations
  • Mentor and coach R&I colleagues and global TS&D team members
 
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Mineral processing, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Surface Chemistry or a related scientific field preferred.
  • At least 8 years' experience working with specialty chemicals, particularly in mining and chemical technology commercialization.
  • Strong hands-on background in laboratory, pilot, and industrial-scale flotation processes.
  • Solid knowledge in at least one of the following: chemistry, mineralogy, colloid and surface chemistry, or electrochemistry.
  • Familiarity with experimental design, statistics, and data analysis is a plus.
  • Ability to mentor and coach others in new methods and flotation technologies
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% both domestically and internationally
