Job Posting: Day Shift - Production Mix Operator

Base Pay: $23.00 per hour
Shift: Day Shift | 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Mixer Operator to join our manufacturing team Walker, MI. This role is responsible for the end-to-end processing of materials, from initial loading and equipment operation to final packaging and quality testing. The ideal candidate is physically fit, safety-conscious, and comfortable working a rotating shift schedule. Schedule: The 2-2-3 Rotation
  • Week 1: Work Tuesday & Wednesday; Off Thursday & Friday; Work Saturday, Sunday, & Monday.
  • Week 2: Off Tuesday & Wednesday; Work Thursday & Friday; Off Saturday, Sunday, & Monday.
  • Note: Candidates hired for the night shift will begin their training and regular duties on the night schedule.
Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor mixer and reactor equipment according to strictly defined standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Material Handling: Operate forklifts to transport raw materials and finished goods; manually load mixers and reactors.
  • Production Prep: Accurately identify and prepare specific quantities of raw materials; report any deviations or process abnormalities immediately.
  • Documentation: Record precise process start and finish times and maintain accurate production logs.
  • Packaging & Labeling: Package finished materials and ensure all containers are labeled correctly in compliance with company rules and safety instructions.
  • Quality Control: Perform initial product testing and release checks to verify that all outputs meet chemical and physical specifications.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of a respirator for more than 20% of the shift. Monitor equipment performance to maintain target run rates.
Required Qualifications
  • Shift Availability: Full commitment to the 12-hour night shift and the Pitman 2-2-3 rotation.
  • Experience: Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or industrial setting is required.
  • Physical Capability: Must be able to maintain a high level of physical activity throughout a 12-hour shift, including the ability to lift 50 lbs (or more with assistance).
  • Safety Compliance: Must be willing and able to wear a respirator as required by safety guidelines.
  • Technical Skills: Basic mathematical proficiency and strong recordkeeping skills for documentation.
  • Detail Orientation: High level of accuracy regarding labeling, packaging, and following complex recipes/procedures.
