
Description
The Production Operator will be responsible for executing processes related to the surface treatment of metal parts, including preparation, dip tank operation, passivation, and/or galvanizing. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a metal finishing or coating environment and is comfortable working with chemicals and industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor dip tanks used in metal passivation or galvanizing processes.

Load and unload metal components to and from treatment equipment following proper handling procedures.

Prepare parts for treatment by cleaning, masking, or assembling as needed.

Perform visual inspections and quality checks to ensure coating integrity and adherence to specifications.

Maintain proper chemical levels and concentrations in tanks; assist with solution preparation and replenishment.

Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols regarding chemical handling and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Complete production logs, batch records, and maintenance reports accurately.

Assist with routine cleaning, calibration, and preventive maintenance of tanks and related equipment.

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding issues or improvements.
Required Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in metal finishing, with specific experience in passivation, galvanizing, or dip tank operations.

Basic understanding of chemical processes and safety practices in an industrial setting.

Ability to read and follow written instructions, safety data sheets (SDS), and work orders.

Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a production environment with exposure to heat, fumes, and chemicals.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience with automated tank lines or programmable logic controls (PLC).

Forklift operation or overhead crane experience a plus.

Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
