Material Handler Team Lead - IMMEDIATE NEED!!
Kelly Services has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a Material Handler Team Lead at our customer distribution center in Lawrenceville, GA. The right person for this role is highly motivated and experienced in leading a production team within a warehouse environment. As a Team Lead, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse.
Location: Lawrenceville, GA
Pay Rate: $20 per hour
Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday, 8pm to 6am (Overtime as needed)
Position Type: Temporary lasting through December 21st, 2024
What You'll Do:
- Lead by Example: You'll work alongside your team, actively participating in the various material handling tasks while providing guidance and support.
- Shift Management: Oversee the start and end of each shift, ensuring timely check-in and check-out for all team members.
- Buddy System Implementation: Implement and manage a buddy system, pairing team members for efficient training and support.
- Problem Solving and Support: Identify and address any issues or challenges faced by team members, providing assistance and solutions.
- Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with the Talent Advisor, providing regular updates on team performance, progress, and any necessary adjustments.
Responsibilities:
- Induction: Unloading pallets and placing boxes on the line, ensuring labels face up.
- Pick Off: Viewing labels on boxes and pushing them toward the designated conveyor door.
- Loading Trailer: Building walls of boxes for efficient trailer loading.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in a warehouse environment, preferably as a Material Handler or in a leadership role.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds consistently, and engage in repetitive tasks such as bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Teamwork Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to effectively lead and support your team.
Preferred but not Required Qualifications:
- Forklift Certification
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
