Job Description:
Ford is seeking an organized and proactive Initial Build Vehicle Coordinator (IBVC) to manage the movement and scheduling of highly valuable Initial Build (IB) prototype vehicles. In this role, you will work with a wide range of Ford's management and engineering teams to support the execution of dynamic test plans and ensure adherence to project timelines. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and control the movement of multiple IB prototype vehicles per Initial Build Test Plans
- Provide daily updates and maintain IB plan metrics and delivery trackers
- Prioritize and execute daily work following standardized processes
- Use Ford proprietary software tools—including FMS, Fleet Outlook, ELMS, CVMS, Maximo, and WORQ—to manage vehicle locations and users
- Prevent loss or idle time of test vehicles by effectively using tracking systems
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with test planners, supervisors, engineering and logistics teams
- Coordinate and deliver IB vehicles to various test locations as required
- Submit maintenance and repair requests through WORQ
- Ensure compliance with Ford's vehicle usage policies and CAMO vehicle requirements
- Support other IBVCs as needed
- Conduct annual physical audits of all IB vehicles and maintain vehicle budget glide paths
- Communicate any plan changes to all stakeholders promptly
Requirements:
- Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong computer and keyboard skills
- Ability to quickly achieve proficiency in Ford's proprietary software programs: FMS, Fleet Outlook, ELMS, CVMS, Maximo, and WORQ
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and work prioritization skills
- Exceptional communication and customer service abilities
- Flexibility to adapt to changing targets and timelines
- Capability to work calmly under pressure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in automotive, logistics, or prototype operations
- Familiarity with test planning, vehicle coordination, and asset tracking
- Background in automotive engineering or operations is a plus
