Job Title: Project Coordinator / Construction Coordinator – Playground Structures
Position Type: Permanent, Full-time
Pay Range: $60,000- $70,000 per year + Benefits
Shifts: Steady Days; 8:30am- 4:30pm
Work Location: Aurora, ON
Summary
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Project Coordinator with construction experience to oversee the installation and execution of playground and recreational structure projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both field and office environments—coordinating on-site activity during the construction season and managing estimates, proposals, and documentation during the off-season.
You will be responsible for end-to-end project execution, from estimating and procurement to overseeing installations and closing out jobs. Your ability to lead field operations, communicate effectively, and stay organized will be key to your success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
On-Site / In-Season Duties
- Attend site meetings and represent the company with clients, subcontractors, and inspectors.
- Coordinate and manage daily on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with timelines and safety regulations.
- Monitor project progress, proactively address delays, and provide regular status updates.
- Work with site crews, contractors, and vendors to maintain smooth project flow, including quality and transportation issues.
- Periodic travel to various job sites using a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement available).
- Be available for after-hours work on occasion, depending on project needs.
- Prepare detailed estimates and professional quotations for playground and site furnishing projects.
- Solicit and compare quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Draft proposals and handle closing documents.
- Input and maintain project data using Microsoft Office 365 programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Support sales and design teams with accurate pricing and technical insights.
- Participate in planning meetings to forecast upcoming construction seasons.
- Proven experience in construction coordination (experience in playgrounds or landscaping is an asset).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, seasonal workflow.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, and specifications.
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle (required).
- Knowledge of playground safety standards (e.g., CSA Z614) is an asset but not required.
