Description

Kelly Services is hiring for a Production Manager in Terrell, TX!

Pay: $80,000+/year (based upon experience)
Schedule: 8 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

  • Determine and specify processes, methods, tools, equipment, and controls for the manufacture of products and components, obtain optimum costs, improving quality of product, reducing losses, cycles, managing inventory, and investment.
  • Coordinate all operational activities for production, layout, capacity planning, and associated training.
  • Coordinate all personnel issues within the shop floor such as workload, reviews, training records, discipline, awards, vacations etc.
  • Ensure employees conduct all production activities according to the company's established procedures and safety guidelines, if needed create and deliver new business documentation to fill gaps.
  • Ensure that all employees are properly trained on the necessary work or safety procedures, assess the adequacy of training in place, and implement training and continual education programs where needed.
  • Investigate, prepare, implement, and integrate long range facility plans based on the forecasted needs of the business as well as recognize the need and implement techniques and devices for periodic updating of business controls and process planning.
  • Understand, stand by, and always promote the safety policies and practices.
  • Understand and support the growth of Lean Principles for continual improvement including leadership and facilitation of activities.
  • Understand and support the Quality Policy and associated guidelines, processes, and requirements as necessary to ensure continual company value, customer satisfaction and market status.
  • Understand and support the Environmental Policy and assure compliance.
  • Visits customers and/or hosts customer visits.
  • Promote and maintain good morale within the area by keeping employees informed and by listening and acting on their concerns.
  • Monitor, maintain, and report to management production and quality performance against company metric goals and provide in-depth resolution for areas not meeting or exceeding standards.

  • Proficient in research and analysis.
  • Ability to conduct inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Read and understand blueprints, drawings, and engineering information, including weld symbols.
  • In-depth computer skills are required with proficiencies in Office programs: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
  • Experienced in ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Epicor, or comparable software.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Physical Demands
  • This position requires accessing all areas in the plant necessary to develop the activity.




Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or management required.
  • 5+ years' experience in production and fabrication, preferably in metal fabrication with at least 2 years as supervisor or lead.
  • Minimum green belt is preferred in Lean Six Sigma Education.
  • Lean manufacturing principles implementation experience.
  • Experience in creating professional documents and presentations.
  • Knowledge and experience with raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
  • Knowledge and experience working with cost drivers associated to the manufacturing process.
