QC Chemist – Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex
Seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated QC Chemist to join the growing Quality Control team with pharmaceutical company located near Downtown Dallas. You will be responsible for conducting cGMP-compliant testing of pharmaceutical products and materials to ensure their quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive testing on final products, in-process materials, raw materials, and stability samples according to established procedures.
- Execute a variety of analytical testing methods, including but not limited to:
- Chromatography (e.g., HPLC, UPLC, GC)
- Spectroscopy (e.g., UV-Vis, IR)
- Wet chemistry techniques (e.g., titrations, loss on drying)
- Complete and meticulously review all test records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Promptly report any quality anomalies, out-of-specification (OOS) results, or deviations according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in deviation and laboratory investigations, contributing to root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Draft clear and concise data summaries, including Certificates of Analysis (COA's) and stability summary tables.
- Contribute to the maintenance and updates of analytical methods, technical reports, and investigation documentation.
- Prepare necessary testing reagents, standards, and maintain adequate laboratory supplies and chemicals.
- Conduct environmental monitoring (EM) sampling within the laboratory, perform incubation, and execute associated testing.
- Assist in the validation and/or development of analytical methods and techniques, ensuring their suitability and reliability.
- Participate in the qualification, calibration, and maintenance of QC laboratory equipment.
- Package and ship samples to contract testing laboratories as required, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by QC management to support the overall function of the Quality Control department.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
- Proven experience working in a regulated laboratory environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of analytical techniques, including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Mass Spectrometry (MS), and Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) methods.
- Comprehensive understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), proper documentation practices, and data integrity principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to clearly articulate technical information.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-based setting.
- Capability to function effectively and adapt to changes in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to easily switch between multiple ongoing projects and adjust priorities based on business needs.

- Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
