Description

Kelly Services, in collaboration with a leading company in the custom manufacturing services sector, is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager in the Taunton, MA area. This is a direct hire opportunity, meaning you will be hired permanently with our client and offered their benefit and vacation package upon hire!

Salary:

  • $88,000 - $98,000 (depending on experience)
Shift:
  • Mon – Fri | 8am – 5pm

Responsibilities:
A Quality Manager in a manufacturing company is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality control throughout the production process, ensuring that all manufactured products consistently meet established quality standards, industry regulations, and customer expectations by implementing and monitoring comprehensive quality control procedures, identifying and resolving quality issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operations. 

Essential Functions:
Quality Assurance Implementation:
    1. Develop and maintain comprehensive quality management systems (QMS) aligned with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001). 
    2. Establish clear quality standards and specifications for raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods. 
    3. Design and execute robust quality control plans including sampling procedures, inspection protocols, and testing methods. 
Quality Control Monitoring:
    1. Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes to identify potential quality issues and non-conformances. 
    2. Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for improvement. 
    3. Investigate and document quality issues, implement corrective actions, and track their effectiveness. 
Defect Prevention:
    1. Collaborate with production teams to identify and address potential quality risks proactively. 
    2. Train employees on quality procedures, standards, and proper handling of products. 
    3. Implement process control measures to minimize variability and prevent defects. 
Customer Focus:
    1. Monitor customer feedback and complaints related to product quality. 
    2. Analyze customer returns and take necessary actions to address quality concerns. 
    3. Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction with product quality. 
Continuous Improvement:
    1. Lead quality improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce costs. 
    2. Identify opportunities for processing automation and data analysis to enhance quality control. 
    3. Facilitate cross-functional teams to implement quality improvement projects. 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in quality management roles within a manufacturing environment. 
  • Expertise in quality control methodologies, statistical process control (SPC), and data analysis. 
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations related to product quality. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a quality team and collaborate with cross-functional departments. 
  • Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer a plus.
  • Knowledge of GD&T a plus
