Quality Control Inspector - Job Title: Quality Inspector Department: Quality Pay scale: Posting Date: To be considered, return internal posting form to your supervisor or HR. You must meet eligibility requirements as outlined in Orwell Handbook. Description of Responsibility: Daily work is determined by structure and needs of the factory and customer requirements. May include in process and/or final inspections. Will include physical properties testing, coating heat approval testing, and customer certification inspections of orders as required. Expected to work on priority order first. Scan correct production information. Operate other equipment as training allows. Description of Accountability: Commitment to working safely and understand all safety procedures. Responsible for assuring that product meets specified tolerances. Record inspection results into reporting system if required. May not approve product that does not conform to specifications. Work to meet daily departmental production goals. Communicate safety , quality and product issues with supervisor, team members and across shifts. Knowledge and Skills: Able to properly use all gages, scopes and devices that determine compliance to drawing tolerances. Able to read and understand insert identification chart, blueprints, insert drawings, routings and operating procedures. Can properly interpret insert defect criteria. Follows procedures/work instructions for conducting customer certifications. Able to use a personal computer and various software such as Microsoft office, SAP MII and Access Databases. Can retrieve and read drawings. Record data as required and can determine if the actual insert in hand matches the route card insert style description. Work Environment: Environment with controlled temperatures and dust collection systems. Safety glasses with side-shields required. Safety shoes required. Gloves, cut resistant gloves when necessary. Physical Demands: Approximately eight hours sitting with two break opportunities per eight-hour work period. Visual inspection requires high concentration. Intermittent walking, reaching, standing, and bending. Lifting insert trays/boxes weighing no more than thirty-three 33 pounds. Problem Solving: Inspectors use drawings and defect criteria to determine disposition of in-process or finished product. Visual imperfections that are not covered by written documentation should be reviewed with factory supervision and the Quality Assurance Manager for disposition
