Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician- Permanent Position
Shift:
3rd shift: M-F 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM; additional hours as needed based on production demands.
Primary Purpose:
The Quality Assurance Technician ensures that quality and food safety specifications are met for products, packaging, and ingredients. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of the products throughout the production process, guaranteeing compliance with quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, verify, and inspect metal detectors, X-ray machines, and scales.
- Perform inspections and monitoring to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Verify that proper materials, packaging, labels, and ingredients are used.
- Conduct weight checks, packaging inspections, and product evaluations.
- Audit critical control points to ensure product safety and quality.
- Collect and prepare samples for testing.
- Calibrate laboratory equipment as needed.
- Put product on hold or stop production to address food safety or quality concerns.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork and documentation.
- Report any deviations from specifications and any identified food safety, quality, GMP, or regulatory issues to management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in the food industry is preferred.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment. Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills. High attention to detail.
- English language proficiency required; Spanish is a plus.
The work environment alternates between office, laboratory, and food production areas. Standing is required for 90% of the work shift. The role also involves walking, bending, stooping, squatting, and twisting. Personal protective equipment must be worn in required areas.
