Research Associate/Senior Research Associate 

Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Research Associate to team in Louisville, CO. This role is a great entry point into the biopharma industry, supporting Lentiviral Vector (LVV) process development. The primary focus will be on preparing solutions, maintaining lab operations, and working with lab instruments, with opportunities to learn downstream purification and other process development activities.

Contract (6 months)
Shift: M-F, 1st
Pay Rate: $32-$45/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Support routine laboratory work including lab cleanliness and maintenance, sample creation and labeling, in-process sample analysis, inventory organization, waste removal, data collection, and review.
  • Responsible for buffer/solution preparation while assuring proper labeling, handling, storage, and disposal of all chemicals and solutions.
  • Assist with high throughput, routine, lab and pilot scale purifications to support process development and cross-functional material needs.
  • Contribute to equipment troubleshooting and optimization of lab processes including chromatography, TFF, and sterile filtration.
  • Maintain clear records of experimental work using an electronic notebook system that adheres to company guidelines.
  • Communicate data in cross-functional meetings.
  • Some overtime work is expected to accommodate process and project needs; with flexibility in schedule.

Qualifications:
  • B.S. in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering or other related discipline, and 1–3 years of experience; An associate degree in life sciences or similar and 2 years of experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in operating general lab equipment including balances, pumps, pH/conductivity meters, pipettes, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with the proven ability to build open and collaborative relationships and work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with process equipment (Bioreactors, AKTA, tangential and normal flow filtration systems, mixing systems, etc.)
  • Experience with purification techniques including chromatography, TFF, and sterile filtration.
  • Experience with buffer/solution preparation.
  • Experience with sample management, lab management, KANBAN, six sigma, electronic notebooks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize work across multiple projects.
