Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking an Associate Scientist contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our clients, a leading immune medicine biotechnology company in Seattle. Position title: Associate Scientist, Antibody Discovery

Overview

As part of our client's dynamic Antibody Discovery team, the incumbent will leverage their expertise to conduct functional assays for screening and characterizing antibodies. The role entails designing and executing experiments that drive project goals while supporting the lab's routine activities.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Immunology Expertise: Deep understanding of antibody therapeutics' mechanisms of action and related assays is crucial.
  • Assay Design & Execution: Independently devise and conduct assays evaluating antibody effector functions such as ADCC, ADCP, CDC, along with assessments of potency and specificity.
  • Assay Principles Acumen: Proficiency in assay principles, including managing relevant controls and resolving routine discrepancies in controls/results.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in flow cytometry and skilled in analyzing data using FlowJo.
  • Independent & Collaborative Work: Contribute independently to design and execution of experiments, while thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced research setting.
  • Hypothesis Generation: Develop and pursue hypotheses aligned with team goals, delivering high-quality data.
  • Data Interpretation & Communication: Analyze and articulate the process and implications behind experimental results, ensuring timely communication with managers and project teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Address challenging problems with innovative solutions, escalating only the most complex issues.
  • Decision-Making: Make informed decisions within broadly defined practices to enhance team quality, timeliness, and effectiveness.
  • Project Management: Plan and oversee smaller projects, developing new problem-solving approaches as needed.
  • General Duties: Execute any additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, immunology, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in laboratory settings, or 3+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Onsite Commitment: Primary on-site presence required, as the role is 90% lab based.
  • Advanced Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of advanced practices and complex principles.
  • Project Insights: Strong grasp of project or group objectives.
  • Precision & Accuracy: Demonstrate exceptional accuracy in executing routine tasks independently.
