Senior Robotics Engineer | Auburn Hills, Michigan
Onsite | Direct hire
 
A Kelly Engineering client is seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer to join their Auburn Hills, MI office. The right candidate has FANUC experience, has worked for an integrator, and is comfortable mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute robotics projects, from concept to implementation.
  • Oversee project budgets, labor hours, task lists, and timelines to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Select and confirm appropriate robot models and options based on project specifications.
  • Create offline robot programs (OLPs).
  • Teach and configure TCPs, Frames, Loads, and DCS safety parameters.
  • Set up robot I/O, including end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) and communication interfaces.
  • Install and configure a variety of dispense process equipment.
  • Learn, integrate, and implement third-party software as project needs require.
  • Develop and validate simulations for internal and external process evaluations.
  • Optimize robot paths and implement cycle time improvements.

Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience in FANUC robotics programming.
  • 7-10 years of experience developing programs from scratch and consistently delivering high-quality results on schedule.
  • Proficiency with VISION systems, including FANUC 3D and body offset applications.
  • Knowledge of ABB robots, particularly in dispense applications, preferred.
  • Familiarity with PLC5–5000 platforms is a plus.
  • Strong background in manufacturing automation, with emphasis on automotive environments (e.g., GM and Ford projects).
  • Associate's degree or higher in engineering
