Job Summary:
The Sales Engineering Lead serves as the technical liaison between the company and its customers. This role involves cultivating new and existing customer relationships, overseeing the sales engineering team, and ensuring efficient handling of all sales-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers through regular sales calls, visits, and travel, including to international customers.
  • Oversee and participate in the development of sales engineering data to adapt company products to customer requirements.
  • Manage the timely and accurate quotation of customer inquiries, including hands-on quoting and coordination of updated pricing for materials and services.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction, follow up on customer concerns, and report on sales activities and market pricing strategies.
  • Ensure the accuracy of new orders regarding price and lead time and manage the Audit 003 report for order acknowledgment.
  • Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop customer files and routing, and assure order entry accuracies and material requirements.
  • Develop sales forecasts and budgets, and recommend customer stocking programs.
  • Participate in executive management reviews and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Manage all marketing initiatives including the company website and social media accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO operating instructions related to sales and train personnel accordingly.
Additional Duties:
  • Quote new and repeat items, and handle contract and pricing negotiations.
  • Develop potential sales representatives and provide direction and training.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and monitor the effectiveness of sales and marketing strategies.
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement efforts involving the Sales Department.
Qualifications:
  • Customer service orientation with a progression from manufacturing to customer service, sales, or engineering roles.
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Manufacturing.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metals machining, with a background in sales, engineering, or manufacturing.
  • Experience with Babbitt Bearings and ability to read technical prints and quote products.
  • Proven sales record with a strong manufacturing/engineering background.
