Job Title: Sample Runner

Position Summary:
The Sample Runner is an entry-level role that supports manufacturing operations by collecting and delivering samples from both in-plant and off-site distribution terminals to the laboratory for analysis. Training is provided; no prior lab or sampling experience is required. A company vehicle is provided for all sample collection duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trains to perform all routine job functions under the guidance of a senior team member until proficiency is achieved.
  • Drives a company vehicle to collect samples following the Sample Plan, both within the plant and at off-site distribution terminals.
  • Accurately documents sample pickup time, location, and material type.
  • Consistently performs work duties in a safe manner and adheres to all safety protocols.
  • Escalates any safety concerns related to vehicles, samples, driving conditions, or site access in a timely fashion.
  • Monitors analytical systems as assigned and escalates issues according to procedure.
  • Follows all Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS) procedures for assigned tasks.
  • Suggests improvements to work processes and tools as needed.
  • Maintains timely filing of all required documentation and forms.
  • Completes all required safety and operational training on time.
Education & Experience:
  • No prior experience required; training provided.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) prior to start.
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts, which may include:
    • 12:00 AM – 10:00 AM
    • 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM Shifts and schedules may vary based on business needs.
Additional Information:
  • Position requires use of a company vehicle for all sample collection; no mileage reimbursement provided.
  • Position requires reliable driving skills and flexibility for shift work. No prior lab experience is necessary—comprehensive training will be provided.
