Pay Rate: $42-$52/hr
Overview:
This client is an industry-leading company focused on cutting-edge research and development in the biotechnology sector. In this role, you'll be working with a motivated and collaborative protein science team on multiple high-impact projects in a rapidly evolving research environment. This role will give you an opportunity to contribute to significant advancements in biotechnology and therapeutics.
Schedule: M-F, standard working hours
Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of mammalian cell culture, including maintaining and propagating expression cells, planning and executing weekly transfection in transient 293 and CHO system, harvest expression supernatant.
- Support media preparation, culture initiation, propagation, and cryopreservation of cells for antibody screening and characterization assays.
- Proficient in standard mammalian cell culture procedures and associated aseptic techniques in addition to maintenance of tissue culture facilities.
- Execute screening assays such as ELISA, BLI, blocking, and epitope binning to identify lead therapeutic candidates with desired biophysical and biochemical profiles.
- Independently design, execute and troubleshoot experiments, analyze data, and routinely present findings during team and cross-functional team meetings.
- Record experimental details and data in ELN.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field with 0-2 years of industrial experience preferred or MSc with 2+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in standard mammalian cell culture procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with maintaining and propagating expression cells.
- Ability to plan and execute transfections in transient 293 and CHO systems.
- Knowledge of media preparation, culture initiation, propagation, and cryopreservation of cells.
- Skilled in executing screening assays such as ELISA, BLI, blocking, and epitope binning.
- Capable of independently designing, executing, and troubleshooting experiments.
- Ability to analyze data and present findings during team meetings.
