Kelly is seeking a Senior Accountant to work with our client, a leading global manufacturing organization, on a direct hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a brand-new position that will handle the accounting responsibilities of a successful local distribution center while reporting to the Midwest-based corporate office.

The Senior Accountant will:

• Compile and analyze inventories, COGS, and manufacturing costs
• Reconcile inventories from sub-ledger to G/L, including preparing proper journal entries
• Review inventory sub-ledgers
• Understand and analyze system linkage
• Understand procedures and controls over inventories and report deficiencies to management
• Communicate with other departments to resolve inventory issues
• Perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and write narrative report
• Reconcile and assess inventory reserves
• Conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation
• Travel across the Mexican border to the company's manufacturing plant as often as 1-2 days per week (passport required)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, including cost accounting
• Experience in the manufacturing and/or automobile industry strongly preferred
• Experience with Oracle or similar ERP preferred
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Excel testing may be required)
• Understanding of US GAAP and IFRS
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and hands-on attitude
