Kelly is seeking a Senior Accountant to work with our client, a successful and growing food manufacturing organization, on a direct hire basis.

The Senior Accountant will:

  • Perform ongoing comparison of objectives and their achievement, consistently using steering actions to achieve the targets set by the respective business in terms of new orders, sales, profits and cash
  • Perform the monthly closing activities including preparation of manufacturing variances along with supporting analysis
  • Report regularly major business figures including standard KPIs to management
  • Analyze deviations in detail and prepare presentations and decision memos for management
  • Prepare and edit monthly and quarterly reports
  • Handle weekly bank reconciliations
  • Oversee fixed asset management
  • Accomplish planning, controlling, accounting, and reporting activities of costs and of special projects
  • Proactively analyze variances and communicate issues and opportunities to operations management
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related area (or equivalent) with evidence of exceptional ability
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Accounting or Analyst role, preferably in a large manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience of accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of variance entries and analysis, inventory flow and analysis
  • Proven ability to perform month end close duties (with oversight) but clear demonstration of independent analysis and problem solving
  • Familiar with MAS 90/200 or Sage 100 preferable, other ERP experience can be substituted
  • Must be able to collaborate and build positive relationships with other teams within Finance and cross-functionally outside Finance to effectively make recommendations, implement process improvements
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrable success in meeting internal and external deadlines, and managing multiple, changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
