Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for the electrical design, development, and testing of factory automation systems. Your role will include integrating various industrial components and machinery and may involve advising on system assembly. You will work on diverse projects focusing on circuit design for the integration and control of industrial components and machinery, including power distribution, Ethernet communications, robotics, and PLC-based control systems.
Location: Onsite in El Dorado Hills, CA, with occasional travel to other factory locations.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $100,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on experience.

- Collaborate with Management and Engineering teams to establish requirements for new factory automation systems or modifications to existing systems.
- Design and create electrical integration schematics for new factory automation systems.
- Ensure designs maximize safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work with the Electrical Packaging design team to produce comprehensive assembly documentation for new systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, project managers, and production staff to troubleshoot and debug newly assembled systems.
- Support and advise the Technician team during system assembly.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support and training to staff.
- Maintain relationships with vendors supplying electrical components and technical services.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in electrical engineering for factory automation and industrial system integration.
- Experience collaborating with Management and Engineering teams to create system requirements and specifications.
- Proficiency in integrating industrial components and machinery into automation systems, including designing custom circuitry and cabling.
- Experience designing PLC-based control systems.
- Proficiency in electrical schematic capture using software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, or similar tools.
- Skilled in using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Understanding of electrical assembly processes and documentation, including panels, enclosures, and cables.
- Experience working with vendors to identify and support suitable components.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
- Experience designing local Ethernet topologies for industrial systems.
- Experience with robotics and integrating robot controllers into PLC-based systems.
- Experience specifying power distribution systems, including isolation transformers and collaborating with electrical installers.
- Proficiency in using power and Ethernet analyzers.
