Senior Principal Network Engineer
**Up to $99.22/hour**

Kelly Government Solutions is hiring for a senior principal network engineer on a U.S. Department of Defense contract with our customer in San Diego, CA.  This is a contract to hire opportunity.

As a Sr. Principal Network Engineer, you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our enterprise-wide digital transformation. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with engineers and technicians in a lab environment
  • Advise on integration of new emerging industry technologies to the program's systems
  • Implement engineering changes to the system as required
  • Review, analyze, and incorporate technical requirements into end-to-end system architectures
  • Responsible for completing the network configurations and coordinating with the peers, SMEs, and government engineers.
  • Occasional travel may be required

Required:
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with eight (8) years of experience; OR six (6) years of relevant experience with a Master (MS) degree; OR four (4) years of experience with STEM PhD degree; an additional four (4) years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor degree
  • Experience with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection
  • Understanding of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP sub-netting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGR
  • Understanding of network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE)
  • Understanding of advanced features like GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast
  • Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

Desired:
  • DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent
  • A professional certification specific to the networking industry like a CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent
  • Familiar with network management applications, like Splunk, Firepower Management Center (FMC), and/or Cisco ISE
  • Exposure to the Risk Management Framework, associated security controls, and STIGs
  • Familiar with Windows, Linux, and VMWare configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures.
  • Experience with tactical/military radio networks, like Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2
  • Experience with (MIL) SATCOM equipment and services
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications / VoIP and VT
  • Experience with Cisco Modelling Labs (CML) or Virtual Internet Routing Lab (VIRL)
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Visio
  • Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance
