Set-up Header Operator in Brea, CA

Pay Rate: $28-$38 Depending on Experience

Available Shifts:
  • 1st Shift: Monday to Friday for 10 hours starting at 4:00 AM and Saturdays for 8 hours, starting at 4:00 AM.
 
  • 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday for 10 hours and Saturdays for 8 hours, starting at 2:30 PM.

What's a typical day as a Set-up Header Operator? You'll be:
  • Setting up and operating two cold heading machines.
  • Practicing and training operators to work safely and produce quality products.
  • Utilizing manufacturing drawings, process control documents, and departmental work instructions.
  • Maximizing the output of production equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Communicating effectively with operators, supervision, and support teams.
  • Using shop support equipment to prepare or modify tooling, ensuring products meet customer expectations.
  • Utilizing various measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Evaluating and communicating machine conditions and concerns to maintenance and supervision.
  • Keeping machines in optimal operating condition, including replacing worn fasteners and machine parts.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs. from floor level to waist, and waist to floor on a repeated basis.
  • Must be able to stand for the entire shift.
  • Must be able to work in an un air-conditioned, shop environment.
  • Able to bend, twist, and squat in sometimes awkward positions for prolonged periods of time while exerting force (pushing or pulling) on hand tools used to adjust machine.
  • Visual acuity for detailed work.
  • Manual dexterity.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints.
  • Experience with inspection tools (Micrometer, Caliper, Drop gauges, etc.)
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Preferred experience with National, Okuma, and Waterbury machines.
