Sr. Mechanical Engineer- Product Development (Lisle IL) 
Client that specializes in designing and manufacturing a wide array of connectors is currently hiring an The Engineering Manager – Direct Hire. 
The Senior Mechanical/ Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of new industrial products and modification of existing products. Product designs will be across the industrial product lines, with a focus on power & electrical and applications. This position will require the solid knowledge and proven experience in product development and mechanical engineering design principles.  
 
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Have experience and knowledge of electro-mechanical interconnect (separable connectors) product design in Industrial applications.
Knowledge of mechanical design for injection molded, metal stamping, screw-machined, and die-cast components.
Proven knowledge of regulatory standards and processes (NEC, UL/CSA, IEC).
Knowledge of manufacturing / assembly processes.
Experience with development and testing of prototypes.
Experience with the formulation of product test procedures.
CAD software knowledge, preferably NX CAD software experience.
PLM system experience including engineering change notice and documentation release procedures.
 
What Will Put You Ahead:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
Experience in the design of electrical or electro-mechanical interconnect products for high power (AC/DC) industrial applications.
Specific experience with Heavy Duty Connector and Circular Connector product development.
Basic electrical engineering knowledge and electro-mechanical product testing experience.
Experience with modelling and building a prototype.
