Description

We're hiring a Store Designer to support retail projects in a hybrid role based in New York. This position focuses on executing approved brand concepts into clean, accurate, construction-ready drawing packages for new stores, remodels, and relocations.

If you have experience producing floor plans, fixture plans, elevations, and finish applications—while adapting designs to site conditions, landlord criteria, and local requirements—this could be a strong fit. Success in this role comes from attention to detail, comfort with design documentation, and consistency in applying established standards.

Store Designer

Location: New York, NY 10018
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Hybrid, up to 3 days onsite)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid | Local candidates only

Essential Job Functions
  • Produce complete store design drawing packages based on approved brand concepts and standards

  • Develop accurate floor plans, fixture plans, interior elevations, storefront elevations, and finish/material applications

  • Adapt standard designs to site conditions, landlord criteria, and local code requirements

  • Deliver clear, detailed documentation suitable for permitting, procurement, and construction

  • Review kickoff documents including site surveys, as-builts, tenant criteria, and work letters

  • Coordinate with internal partners and vendors to resolve design constraints

  • Incorporate redlines and feedback accurately and on schedule

  • Maintain drawing accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all project phases

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Professional experience in retail, commercial, or architectural design documentation

  • Strong proficiency with CAD standards, tools, and templates

  • Proven ability to produce construction-ready drawing sets

  • Experience applying brand standards across multiple project types (new, remodel, relocation)

  • Ability to interpret landlord criteria, codes, and jurisdictional requirements

  • Strong attention to detail, deadlines, and documentation accuracy

  • Clear, professional communication with cross-functional teams
