Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Aviation Structural Aircraft Lead Mechanic to join our team, responsible for the maintenance and repair of aircraft systems and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation mechanics, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in all work performed.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
- Commitment to company values and ethics
- Be a working lead, in that he/she will also be responsible for completing assigned jobs and meeting deadlines.
- Ensure that all work performed complies with applicable technical data, FAA regulations and Company policies and procedures.
- Contribute to team efforts while collaborating with Maintenance Director to achieve maintenance planning goals.
- Coordinate activities of workers including assigning work duties for maximum utilization of manpower and analyzing and resolving work problems.
- Conduct weekly meetings to inform team members work assignments and deadlines
- Complete annual performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions.
- Provide good leadership skills by coaching and developing continuous growth and talent within the organization.
- Coordinate with repair station inspectors for in process, final inspection and sign-off of completed tasks to manufacture specifications as well as FAA regulations.
- Assist (when necessary) with quoting inspections, and modifications.
- Provide and maintain professional and positive communication to customers regarding work order status.
- May travel to remote locations on occasion for emergency repairs or inspections.
- Must be available for nights or weekends if needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Sheet metal/composite experience required
- Excellent team leadership, employee motivation and safety consciousness skills
- Reads and interprets engineering blueprints, drawings, technical and structure repair manuals
- Proficiency in general computer use including MS Office software
- 3+-years leading people within a maintenance/modification setting.
- Aviation sheet metal/composite: 5 years (Required)
- Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and repair manual: 5 years (Required)
- Airframe license require
- High School education or equivalent
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
