Job Title: Technologist - R&D - Electrical Testing
Primary Location: 965 West Maude Ave., Sunnyvale, CA 94085
6-month contract - Onsite role
Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Pay rate: $25-36.50/hr.
The Silicon Valley Technology Center's (SVTC) Applications Engineering Laboratories are focused on
supporting rapid prototyping and applications development for customer-driven projects, in addition to
internal R&D initiatives. The laboratories serve a range of high impact business sectors, including
advanced packaging and microfabrication, rigid and flexible printed circuit boards, thermal management,
optics, and high-speed communication.
THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The engineer specializing in electrical characterization is expected to perform routine high-quality
characterization in signal integrity and EMC testing, including novel test methods tailored for a diverse
and dynamic portfolio of applications development projects typical at SVTC. The engineer will work
closely with senior colleagues and will lead specific project workflows that depend on electrical
characterization techniques and determination of electrical properties.
QUALIFICATION PROFILE:
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Understanding of fundamental electrical engineering and signal integrity theory.
• Adept at hands-on lab work, creative thinking, problem solving in a unique and fast-paced
applications engineering laboratory environment.
• Experience with electrical characterization tools such as multimeters, spectrum analyzers,
power supplies, and oscilloscopes.
• Understanding of RF fundamentals such as EM theory, transmission line theory, and stack-up
design.
• Experience with Vector Network Analyzers to perform S-parameters measurements, TDR
responses, eye diagrams etc. preferred.
• Familiarity with EMC testing is preferred.
KEY SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
• Keen curiosity to learn beyond assigned tasks, robust problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm for
innovation and process improvement.
• Ability to work comfortably in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
• Serve as a technical contact point for workflows based in signal integrity and EMI analysis.
• Basic data analysis and statistics experience is expected
