Utilities Maintenance Technician (Clairton PA)

Our client, a global leader in environmental solutions, is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity. In this role, you will perform field maintenance, inspection, installation, and repairs across a variety of utility distribution system areas—system protection (line locates and inspections), meter installation/replacement, service connections, and valve/hydrant inspection and maintenance. Core Responsibilities:
Conduct field maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for utility distribution systems.
Perform line locates and system protection inspections.
Replace and install meters; complete service and tap connections.
Inspect, maintain, and repair valves and hydrants.
Operate equipment and hand tools safely and effectively.
Interpret blueprints, maps, and utility schematics with accuracy.
Follow safety protocols, including OSHA and utility standards, at all times.
Maintain technical documentation and accurate service records.
Communicate clearly with customers and team members, ensuring quality service.
Respond to emergency repair requests and participate in callouts as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven field maintenance and repair expertise.
Strong system troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
Familiarity with distribution systems, line locating, and protection techniques.
Experience with meter installation and replacement, service taps, and system connections.
Proficiency in valve and hydrant inspection and maintenance.
Capable of reading plans and utility documentation.
Adherence to safety protocols and standards.
Physical stamina for outdoor work in all conditions.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Attention to detail, strong organizational habits.
Computer and mobile device literacy.
Valid driver's license with a clean record.
Team player with sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
