Title: Vehicle Mapping Operator (24282)
Location: Austin, TX (occasional travel to Arizona locations as required)
Classification: W2 under staffing supplier
Contract Duration: 4 months
Compensation: $25.41/hour

A specialized operations team is seeking highly capable individuals to support mapping and data collection activities throughout Greater Austin using dedicated mapping vehicles. Team members will work four 10-hour shifts per week, operating vehicles as their main workspace, and will be responsible for completing mapping assignments with accuracy, efficiency, and strict adherence to road safety standards. The team plays a critical role in delivering high-quality data to support broader operational objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate mapping and test vehicles across varied environments, road types, and weather conditions, in compliance with local traffic laws and safety protocols.
  • Follow detailed operational instructions, prepare vehicles and components, and collaborate with fellow team members to carry out mapping/test tasks.
  • Perform route-based driving, short engineering test drives, and transport activities as assigned.
  • Maintain strong focus on assigned mapping, producing accurate and comprehensive reports on test results.
  • Support test activities using engineering principles, appropriate analysis tools, and established protocols to meet quality targets.
  • Travel to test sites and other locations (potentially including Arizona-based labs) as needed for operational or service requirements.
  • Coordinate logistical aspects of field operations, such as site readiness, equipment management, and planning resources.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to evaluate functionality, performance, and user experience of mapping workflows.
  • Drive safely in all conditions including daylight, nighttime, and adverse weather, completing all tasks within scheduled timeframes.
  • Follow all vehicle security protocols and report concerns to supervision promptly.
  • Assist with supplementary operations tasks, including moving equipment/materials or uploading test data as required.
Requirements
  • 1–2 years of experience in the technology sector or demonstrated strong interest in technology/innovation.
  • Proficiency with ticketing and workflow management tools (e.g., JIRA) for tracking assignments, collecting feedback, and scheduling maintenance or issue resolution.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and process-oriented skills; willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • High comfort level with tech systems and troubleshooting basic operational issues.
  • Demonstrated interest in autonomous systems or emerging technology fields.
  • Valid MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) and ability to sign Non-Disclosure Agreement are required.
