Description

Shipping & Warehouse Associate

This role is a physically demanding position focused on inventory management, production support, and logistics. You will be responsible for moving materials between production lines and carrier trucks while maintaining a safe and organized warehouse.

There are 6 openings!
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Sunday, 6 pm- 6 am (1h for meals)
  • Pay rate: 17$ per hour
  • Contract: W2 under-staffing supplier, with a 3-month duration (with possible extension)
  • Location: 100% on-site at Jackson MI
Core Qualifications
  • Physical Capability: Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs independently and handle prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and climbing.

  • Environment: Ability to work in a manufacturing setting that is noisy, dusty, and subject to temperature extremes and chemical odors.

  • Licensing: Must possess (or be able to obtain) a valid driver's license and forklift certification.

  • Availability: Must be able to work shifts of 8+ hours.

  • Technical Skills: Ability to use scanning equipment, UPS shipping systems, and SAP inventory software.

 

Primary Responsibilities 1. Shipping & Logistics
  • Picking and packing orders according to pack sheets.

  • Loading carrier trucks, ensuring weight is distributed evenly for safety.

  • Docking trailers using an Ottawa machine (yard truck).

  • Handling small package shipments via UPS.

2. Production Support
  • Pulling finished skids from production lines and placing them in warehouse racks.

  • Supplying the production line with corrugated boxes and necessary materials.

  • Removing scrap skids and inbound chemical/equipment shipments to proper storage areas.

3. Inventory & Maintenance
  • Scanning products into the inventory system and performing daily cycle counts.

  • Operating wrapping machines and organizing warehouse shelving.

  • Maintaining a clean workspace (housekeeping) and arranging for equipment repairs when needed.
