Job Title: Warehouse Sorter Operator
Pay: $17/hr
Location: Savannah, GA
Schedule: Starting at 5:45 PM, for 8-10 hour shifts
Job Description:
The Sorter Operator is responsible for monitoring all five conveyor lanes that feed into the merge heading towards liquor box trucks on the wine and spirit side of the warehouse. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to address incorrect cases and labels. The Sorter Operator inspects wave sequence integrity, resolves case jams, checks for breakage, and monitors lanes. Additionally, they manage the WCS Monitor at the sorter desk to track wave sequence, loaders, and the no-read line. An hourly productivity report must also be sent to all leaders.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Six months of experience in a similar position preferred.
- Experience in operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and other power equipment preferred.
- Start the system each day 30 minutes before the shift begins, ensuring all mechanical and software functions are operational.
- Communicate daily volume to different segments via P.A.
- Accurately inform each loader of the last wave closeout for each truck using the P.A. system.
- Use the company's logistics management system to ensure all cases are accounted for and in wave sequence.
- Ensure loads are properly closed out with the milk tray or sticker on the correct case.
- Identify damages and ensure safe cleanup of spills.
- Safely operate and shut down the conveyor line in case of an emergency.
- Report any safety, software, or mechanical issues to management.
- Maintain the facility in a neat, clean, orderly, and safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math computations.
- Proficiency in using the company's technology.
- Knowledge of company products and maintaining up-to-date information.
- Working knowledge of computerized handheld devices.
- Skills in inventory and quality control.
- Maintain high proficiency standards in a non-temperature-controlled environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and inclement weather.
- Occasionally work in refrigerated areas.
- Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise and some dust and fumes from power equipment.
- Regular, reliable attendance required.
- Ability to frequently operate pallet jacks and/or forklifts if assigned.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, lift, carry, and use hands and fingers.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (50-65 lbs), including some overhead lifting.
- Specific vision abilities needed, including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to judge distance.
