Warehouse: Stand up Forklift Operator
Location: Mountville PA 17554
Schedule: 2nd shift 3:00pm-11:00pm / Sun-Thu or Mon-Fri
3rd shift 11:00pm-7:00am / Sun-Thu or Mon-Fri
Employment Type: Full-time $18 to start (Temp-Perm) $22/hr after conversion
Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and reliable Forklift Operator to join our cold storage operations team. This position plays a key role in safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stage, and prepare product for shipment in a freezer warehouse environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in cold temperatures and experienced with warehouse management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate stand-up reach forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload pallets and materials within the warehouse or distribution center.
- Conduct daily pre-operation safety checks and report any mechanical issues or hazards to supervisors.
- Use RF scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS) to accurately locate, pick, and scan inventory.
- Transport products to and from storage areas, docks, or production lines while maintaining proper stacking and load balance.
- Assist with shipping and receiving operations, including staging, shrink-wrapping, labeling, and verifying incoming/outgoing shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Communicate with warehouse teams, supervisors, and drivers to coordinate load movements and resolve inventory issues.
- Perform inventory checks and participate in cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.
- Adhere to productivity goals while maintaining attention to detail and minimizing product damage.
- Support general warehouse duties as needed, including packaging, palletizing, and assisting with manual loading/unloading.
- High school diploma or GED preferred, or at least one year of warehouse experience.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Willingness to work in freezer conditions for extended periods.
- Flexible availability including weekends, early mornings, and overtime.
- Strong attention to detail with basic math skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse layouts and WMS systems preferred.
- Skilled in operating RF scanners and warehouse vehicles (pallet jacks, lift trucks).
- Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and climbing.
- Comfortable working in sub-zero temperatures and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Requires manual dexterity, repetitive motions, and ability to work in physically demanding conditions.
