Job Summary

We are seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Test Engineering functional group with a variety of moderately complex engineering duties, including hands-on tasks. This role involves setting up and conducting tests, analyzing results, and providing direct support to engineers. Responsibilities include operating test equipment, fabricating and modifying test fixtures, maintaining lab safety and organization, and ensuring compliance with test specifications and procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Familiar with a laboratory environment and test equipment
  • Set up test apparatus and conduct operational testing
  • Write test reports to assess the ability of products to perform per specifications
  • Review project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment needed, nature of technical problem and possible solutions
  • Set up and conduct tests of assembled units, sub-assemblies and components
  • Record results with numerical and graphical data
  • Analyze test results related to the design and test objectives 
  • Provide hands-on feedback to engineers
  • Support of qualification testing including test execution coordination in-house and at external labs
  • Operate Engineering Lab environmental chamber
  • Fabricate engineering and manufacturing test fixtures from drawings and schematics
  • Perform test fixture repairs, modifications and certifications
  • Perform lab 6S activities (cleanup, safety, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to interpret schematics
  • Mechanical aptitude and practical  knowledge of general hand tools and machine shop equipment
  • Experience with MS Office products
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware to the component level 
  • Prior soldering experience 

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
