Job SummaryLeonardo DRS, NIS is seeking a full-time Government Property Administrator II for our Austin and Dallas, TX facility.
Property Administrator II (PA II) is responsible for the management, control, and accountability of all U.S. Government and Customer-owned property within the organization. This role ensures compliance with FAR 45, FAR 52.245-1, DFARS 245, and DCMA Guidebook for Government Contract Property Administration, while maintaining audit readiness, lifecycle accountability, and secure property control.
The PA II serves as the primary interface with DCMA, supports internal and external audits, administers property tracking system(s), and provides oversight of property receiving, storage, disposition, and reporting processes. The position ensures that all Government and Customer property is properly documented, tracked, and used only for authorized programs.
Job Responsibilities• Manages and controls all Government- and Customer-owned property within DRS,NIS to ensure continual accountability and compliance
• Responsible for monitoring and updating a formal process for Government-Customer Property Administration
• Performs incoming processing for U.S. Government- and Customer-owned property per FAR 45, FAR 52.245-1
• Maintains and administers property accountability records
• Responsible for the accuracy and ensuring that all U.S. Government- and Customer-owned Property is put into the correct tracking system and files all incoming documentation
• Maintains control of Government and Customer Property in their selective electronic systems
• Maintains accountability records for requisitioned parts and ensures that they are only used for the appropriate program for which they were in support of.
• Responsible for administering the Government Stores Area, keeping it secure and maintaining records of where all parts are located
• Primary POC for all Government Property related issues with DCMA
• Prepares and supports quarterly DCMA review of Government Property
• Responsible for all Inventories and Audits. This includes any DCMA audit or requests annually. Schedules sampling inventories throughout the year and reports results to DCMA and all Program Customers as required.
• Responsible for all U.S. Government shippers and verifies that they have the correct authority for shipment as well as confirmation from all parties included
• Partners with Contracts department in closing out any Government Contract by supplying them with the information needed so property can be transferred or dispositioned correctly
• Manages the control of all Scrap and Excess Inventory being put into the Government Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), (Government requirement)
• Responsible for ensuring all instructions from the Plant Clearance Officer are followed for the disposition process. This will include doing DEMIL - the process of destroying, disabling, or rendering government property unusable for its original military purpose before it can be sold, transferred, or disposed of as scrap
• Prepares all reports upon request by the Government, Customer or internal leadership
• Supports, communicates and defends the mission, values and culture of the company
• Conducts internal audits to ensure ability to pass Government and company audits
• Represents organization as prime contact with internal and external personnel
• Investigates and resolves any anomalies in the property tracking system
• Prepares and presents monthly metrics, as required
• Creates, delivers, and maintains tracking of training related to proper handling of Government Property Equipment.
• Responsible for monitoring the GFE Storeroom / Shipping / Receiving areas as required
• May review records and reports compiled by lower-level personnel.
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Property Administration
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance as needed, which requires US Citizenship
- Have experience in one of the following areas: stockroom management, inventory management, Government property management, or inventory reporting.
- NPMA certification is strongly preferred (CPPS, CPPA, or CPPM)
- 2+ years of property administration experience preferred
- Must have experience with Government reporting in PIEE system
- Must have the ability to present information and respond to questions from management or the Government
- Must have adequate computer skills including MS applications
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
