Job Summary

We are seeking a Program Finance Analyst Intern to work alongside our Finance Team and gain hands-on experience with the financial management of programs and products.

 

This is a fully in-person summer internship located in Germantown, Maryland. We are seeking a rising senior pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. Interns will work full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support the Program Finance team in monitoring program budgets, costs, and forecasts across the program lifecycle
  • Assist in the preparation of Program Management Review (PMR) materials, including financial summaries, trend analysis, and variance reporting
  • Build and maintain Excel-based financial models, and reporting tools using pivot tables, charts, and formulas
  • Analyze Estimate at Completion (EAC) data and assist in identifying cost and schedule variances against baselines
  • Create graphs and charts for various financial projects using spreadsheet and graphics software
  • Update and maintain program financial data in relevant database and reporting systems
  • Assist in compiling and presenting financial metrics and trend data to support management decision-making
  • Research financial information and assist in summarizing findings for project objectives
  • Create various documents and electronic deliverables with direction from senior staff
  • Assist in answering questions and/or refer inquiries to the appropriate person
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
  • Demonstrate ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Rising senior majoring in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior coursework or experience in cost accounting, financial modeling, or managerial finance is a plus

U.S. Citizenship required.

The salary for this position is $22/hour. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
