Job SummaryOur Fitchburg, MA team seeking a strategic and creative Senior Manager of Marketing & Communications to lead external communications and business development marketing initiatives for a growing naval power systems organization. This role is ideal for a communications leader who thrives in a fast-paced, highly technical environment and can translate complex capabilities into compelling messaging that supports customer engagement, brand visibility, and business growth.
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule - in office 2 days a week and work remotely the balance of the week.
What You Will Do- Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing communications strategies aligned with business objectives and growth priorities
- Support business development efforts through customer-facing marketing campaigns, sales enablement materials, presentations, trade show content, and strategic communications
- Partner closely with leadership, engineering, operations, and business development teams to communicate capabilities, innovations, and mission impact
- Oversee external communications including media relations, press releases, social media, website content, and brand messaging
- Drive content creation across digital, print, video, and event channels
- Manage major industry events, conferences, customer engagements, and trade shows from planning through execution
- Ensure consistency of brand identity and messaging across all external communications
- Monitor marketing performance metrics and recommend strategies to improve engagement and visibility
- Manage external agencies, vendors, and creative partners as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in marketing communications, corporate communications, or strategic marketing
- Experience supporting business development initiatives in a technical, industrial, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or government contracting environment preferred
- Strong executive communication and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts
- Proven success managing integrated campaigns, external communications, and large-scale events
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience working cross-functionally with senior leaders and technical teams
- Proficiency with digital marketing tools, content management systems, and analytics platforms
- Ability to travel occasionally for customer events, trade shows, and business meetings

U.S. Citizenship required. This position may require an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
The salary range for this position is $128,492 per year to $199,483. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
