Title and Summary
Director, Agent Suite - Solutions Architect OverviewServices within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We deliver value added services by combining traditional management consulting with Mastercard's data, AI assets, proprietary platforms, and execution expertise to provide clients with powerful strategic insights and recommendations.
The Mastercard Agent Suite team is building what's next at the intersection of AI, commerce, and payments. Launched in 2026, Agent Suite is a global product that enables enterprises to build, test, and deploy customizable agentic AI systems within their own infrastructure. As agentic AI moves from experimentation to production, Mastercard occupies a unique position of trust, network reach, and advisory depth to make this transition safe, responsible, and impactful for the world's leading financial institutions.
The Agent Suite Solutions Enablement team is at the forefront of defining how agentic AI is deployed at enterprise scale. Those who join this team are not inheriting a playbook — they are writing it at a pivotal moment in the evolution of AI and commerce.
The Role:
As a Director, Solutions Architect, you are Mastercard's forward deployed technical authority for Agent Suite engagements. You operate at the intersection of Mastercard's asset portfolio and client infrastructure, designing agentic systems that are production ready, compliant, and built to strengthen over time.
In this client facing role, you will:
• Serve as the primary technical authority for Agent Suite client engagements from discovery through validated proof of concept
• Design end to end agentic AI architectures that are robust, secure, compliant, and scalable within client environments
• Translate client business objectives and regulatory constraints into executable technical solutions leveraging Agent Suite, Mastercard APIs, and proprietary platforms
• Partner closely with Technical Program Managers to ensure seamless transition from proof of concept to production deployment, maintaining technical integrity throughout delivery
• Validate system performance, resilience, and compliance within real client infrastructure, not theoretical environments
• Contribute to a guild model organization by sharing reusable patterns, architectural standards, and field insights across the global Agent Suite Services community
• Help define the standards, operating model, and culture of a new Agent Suite Services capability as it scales globally
All About You:
The ideal candidate for this position brings deep technical expertise, strong client orientation, and a principled approach to responsible innovation. They should have:
• Advanced experience designing and delivering complex, production grade systems within regulated enterprise environments, preferably financial services
• Strong familiarity with AI, data driven systems, and emerging agentic architectures, with the ability to translate concepts into deployable solutions
• Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to AI deployment, including GDPR, PCI DSS, and regional or national regulatory standards (experience with the EU AI Act is a plus)
• Experience working with APIs, platform based architectures, and distributed systems; familiarity with Mastercard APIs, open banking standards, or ISO 20022 payment messaging is advantageous
• A defined area of technical depth (e.g., security architecture, financial data modeling, conversational AI, agent orchestration, context engineering, or regulatory technology) that complements the broader team
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizations, build alignment across teams, and operate effectively across cultural and regulatory contexts
• A mindset that views regulatory and policy frameworks as enablers of trust and responsible innovation, not obstacles to progress Mastercard is a merit-based, inclusive, equal opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
