Director, Financial Crime Product & Centre of Excellence Lead AP Financial Crime Product and Centre Of Excellence Lead – SSO, Asia Pacific Region

In the Financial Crime Solutions (FCS) team at Mastercard, we build and deliver products and services powered by payment data to detect and prevent financial crime. We are an award winning team, combining advanced data science with deep payment expertise to help financial institutions combat fraud, scams, and money laundering by uncovering the criminal behaviours that drive them.
We are now building a new Centre of Excellence (COE) in Asia-Pacific, designed to act as a regional hub for the Cyber & Scam Centre. The Centre will drive scalable growth and robust delivery tailored to AP priorities, responsible for developing innovative solutions, use cases to the needs and priorities for AP. The COE aims to strengthen Mastercard's leadership in anti scam and fraud prevention through thought leadership and industry engagement.

Overview of Accountabilities:
This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, building partnerships, and supporting commercialization initiatives to drive adoption of Mastercard's Financial crime suite of solutions across different segments, which includes government, Financial institutions, e-commerce platforms, digital players etc.
This role also manages product performance tracking, budget forecasting, drafting of white papers, developing narratives, managing communications and ongoing collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance Mastercard's product offerings and national security postures across the Asia Pacific region.

• Thought Leadership & Advocacy
o Position Mastercard as a trusted advisor to private and public sectors across Asia Pacific.
o Represent Mastercard at regional forums, industry events, and policy dialogues to influence and shape the national agenda that enable Mastercard Financial Crime Solutions.
o Financial Crime Industry expert, driving and implementing AP Centre Of Excellence objectives and strategies.
o Develop narratives, manage external communications (e.g. white papers, thought leadership efforts with different industries bodies, universities, providing talk tracks to senior leaders etc)
• Owning Go-To- Market Strategy
o Develop, own and implement AP GTM Strategy that drives collaboration between different government sector and Financial institutions for Mastercard Financial Crime Solution. This includes
 identifying and prioritizing opportunities/ markets for deployment;
 Identifying local market nuances on all fronts (i.e. regulation, policy, PII requirements, technical requirements etc), and work with respective team (e.g. tech, DS etc) to cover the nuances and deploy
 Understand MA FCS and other COE offerings functionality and features, and commercialization of products in consultation with internal stakeholders. Map these products/ services to the needs of FCS customers and identify new opportunities and positioning products to prospects. This also includes RFP submission for FCS solutions
o Policy/ Regulation Enablement: Advocating for harmonized regulations and standards to support Financial Crime Solutions deployment.
o Identify and engage relevant government agencies, buyers, decision makers, influencers across AP in forming GTM / deployment for FCS solutions and services
o New opportunities qualification: Guide and work through new opportunities presented from sales team. Educate internal and external stakeholders on how FCS solutions works and to be deployed.
o Identify new use cases and work with global product team to develop new use cases that resonate for AP customers.
• Partnership Building
o Engage with like-minded partners including governments, multilateral organizations, technology partners and industry associations to bring Mastercard FCS & COE objectives to fruition
o Build coalitions that foster innovation and shared best practices across markets – specific to fraud/ scam vertical
o Earn a seat in critical government lead forums (e.g. World Bank, FATF)
o Foster and maintain a close partnership with other verticals within COE, Mastercard regional sales teams and divisional product teams to drive FCS sales opportunities. Maintain an open approach to opportunities that target Governments directly, or augment FCS solutions across national ecosystems.
• Actively track AP FCS pipeline and work with internal stakeholders to accelerate revenue realization by overcoming challenges specific to the segment, e.g. contracting, liability caps, distribution, regulation etc.
• Collaborate broadly with internal stakeholders to highlight and transfer success. This includes building scalable narratives and case studies and responding to consultation paper specific to FCS space (e.g. data sharing, XB money transfer etc).
• Maintain critical Banks and Government entity relationships with whom we collaborate on Centers of Excellence (COE), providing training and upskilling at a national level to augment national security postures. Establish and maintain a plan of work for the COEs.
• Foster relationships with ecosystem participants that help Mastercard raise awareness of macro trends affecting countries and societies, e.g. Fraud, scams. With partners, build advocacy platforms that highlight Mastercard's proactive role in bringing safety and security to national ecosystems.
• Demonstrate thought-leadership, product/technology development expertise and strong project management skills in the integration of technology into new product and service solutions.

All About You
• This position requires a highly collaborative individual who will need to manage relationships across multiple functional areas, regions and executives, with at least 12 years of experience.
• Experience on public sector engagement, policy advocacy, or strategic government partnerships, with experience working in government ministries or agencies is preferred
• Proven track record of engaging different levels of government stakeholders, driving regional initiatives
• Proven track record of building coalitions and partnerships with like-minded stakeholders
• Cross-functional team leadership experience managing multiple, complex projects concurrently and delivering timely results under tight timelines
• Knowledge of payment processing industry, cybersecurity, identity, fraud or authentication products and the broader ecosystem is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify key issues, structure analysis and synthesize large amounts of data, and provide recommendations effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility: team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible.
• Personal presence, exceptional communication (i.e. able to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior management and business partners and thought leadership capabilities.
• Ability to embrace complexity, but deliver/articulate simplicity
