Role: We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director, SME Sales Specialist Alternative Distribution Channels to lead our efforts in expanding Mastercard's presence in the SME segment. This is your chance to drive revenue growth, forge strategic partnerships, and be at the forefront of innovation in the payments industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead with Impact: Own and execute a revenue-driven sales strategy to grow Mastercard's SME segment share in South Asia.
• Innovate and Collaborate: Identify and engage potential customers through direct outreach, partnerships, and market intelligence.
• Solve Real Problems: Understand SME pain points and tailor Mastercard's solutions to address their unique challenges, including payments & acceptance, spend management, and digital transformation.
• Maximize Value: Position Mastercard's SME product suite—both core and through strategic partnerships—to deliver maximum client value.
• Expand Horizons: Develop and manage relationships with fintech's, acquirers, issuers, and other ecosystem players to expand Mastercard's reach.
• Drive Conversions: Engage directly with customers and partners to position Mastercard solutions, negotiate deals, and drive conversions.
Qualifications:
• Expertise in Action: Strong knowledge and experience in structuring channel financing deals.
• Product Mastery: Expertise in Payments Product management and Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies.
• Financial Acumen: Proven ability to manage Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
• Collaborative Spirit: Extensive experience working across a matrix organization with cross-functional team collaboration as a top priority.
• Channel Savvy: Familiarity with alternative distribution channels such as Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Payment Facilitators (PayFac), Fintech enablers, and marketplaces. Examples include companies like Unilever and Nestlé; platforms like Amazon and Alibaba; and channel finance partners both traditional and emerging players in this space.
• Data-Driven: Strong analytic and data experience to identify trends and areas of growth.

• Have proven experience engaging internal and external commercial and technical stakeholders to drive solution development and adoption.
• Have a strong background in sales, business development, or account management within financial services, fintech, or payments.
• Have experience working with fintech's and alternative payment providers to drive innovation in B2B transactions.
• Possess strong relationship management, influencing, and communication skills.
• Be self-motivated, a quick learner, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Hold a bachelor's degree (required); advanced degree preferred.
• English required.
