Overview
Mastercard's A2A Gateway Services team is driving the next generation of payments by creating secure and seamless Account-to-Account (A2A) products. As part of Mastercard's multi-rail strategy, the team is expanding beyond card-based solutions to capture A2A volumes through partnerships with digital wallets and Alternate Payment Methods (APMs). This role is central to advancing the Pay by Account (PBA) product—Mastercard's rail-agnostic digital payment offering designed to transform everyday payment experiences.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Director, A2A Gateway Product Management, will be focused on working with customers and partners to drive A2A strategy focusing on APMs and Digital Partners by understanding product requirements, collaborate with cross functional teams internally to deliver the product. This role will be a significant contributor to the global success A2A Gateway products. The role will be responsible to identify and enable new payment flows and delivering on a GTM with the regional product teams. The ideal candidate is passionate about driving product growth, highly motivated, with program and project management skills and product background.
Key Accountabilities of the Role:
• Lead product discovery and solutioning for Pay by Account, identifying new technologies and use cases to inform long-term strategy.
• Understand regional and market needs to design and localize scalable A2A solutions.
• Collaborate with customers on product solutioning, implementation, product certification
• Act as subject matter expert in digital payments, wallets, and A2A ecosystems.
• Develop and deliver bundled product integrations with Mastercard Digital offerings (e.g., MDES, Click to Pay, Secure Card on File).
• Design scalable solutions for enablement of Pay by Account across wallets and X-Pays (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.)
• Define product epics and features to support the A2A Gateway roadmap using Agile methodologies.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, design, legal, and go-to-market teams.
• Champion Mastercard Way behaviors and ensure alignment with customer and business goals.
All About You:
• 5+ years in product and/or program management roles, within the payments ecosystem.
• Deep understanding of digital payments, A2A systems, tokenization, and mobile payment technologies.
• Proven ability to define and execute product strategy in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with a track record of delivering product initiatives at scale.
• Experience working across geographies with regional product customization.
• Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence without authority.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Agile certification or practical Agile experience is a plus.
